The Little Bird Series
The Little Bird Series resulted from experimentation with painting with watercolor on canvas that had been prepared with a coat of watercolor ground. After using the paint, I use ink pens to create further details. When the painting is complete, they are coated with cold wax in order to keep the paint protected from exposure to moisture.

The birds are painted on a 4" x 4" gallery wrapped canvas so they can be hung on a wall or placed on a flat surface, where they will sit comfortably.
Watercolors
Watercolor paintings, often with ink lines, have a luminous airy quality. Painting in watercolors allows me the easiest way to paint when traveling or hiking to more remote sites. It is also easy to keep the needed supplies handy most of the time. It has become my most common medium.
